Welcome to Earth!

This beautiful child was born on Wednesday. He is my baby brother's baby. I still can't believe little Jeffy is married with a baby of his own. He will be the best daddy. He loves to play with my kids and has been so excited for his very own little man to arrive. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to spend a lot of time with his new little son. Tristan was sent to the NICU a few hours after birth because of an infection that has made it difficult for him to breathe and eat. He is doing great though and might be able to go home on Sunday. He is definately the biggest little guy in the NICU. He weighed 8lbs 4oz. and has the chubbiest legs I have seen on a newborn. I don't know where Haylee was hiding that great big baby. She was a teeny tiny pregnant mommy.

Watching them in the hospital with their first little boy reminds me how it felt to have our first child. I envy people with their first. Don't get me wrong, the 2nd was wonderful also. But that first little baby being placed in your arms expands your universe. All of a sudden you find all of this extra room in your heart to love someone beyond all your comprehension and expectations. Your whole world changes in an instant. I loved it. I still love it. And am so grateful for who I am now that I have children. While I am raising them, they are making me grow.

Kangaroo Zoo

Today we went to Kangaroo Zoo with Auntie Steph and Aiden and Drew. Holy crap! we had such a great time! Okay... if you know Mason you would think he was screaming in this picture, but... miracle of miracles, he was screaming with delight! He loved it!!
Most of my pictures are blurry because they were moving so dang fast. I just thought all the blow-up dragons were so cool I just wanted to take their picture. But I love how Steph and Aiden snuck into the corner of the pic.

So.. I was holding Aiden and was trying to help Drew climb down from one of the slides when he launched into my arms and I lost my balance. I was trying to hold the kids up so they wouldn't fall and hit their heads so I didn't have any arms to catch myself with and down I went, all the way to the floor, where I cracked my head. Holy crap. I think I might have a minor brain injury. Maybe I'll be able to remember things better now.

Both Steph and I had major friction burns on our elbows. Ouch! But it was worth the pain. I wanted to keep playing but the kids were getting worn out so it was time to go.

Definately something we'll do again later.
